Overview
HKCampus provides campus community, course, map, messaging, food, and profile features for students. This policy explains what data the app may collect, why it is used, and what in-app controls are available.
Data We May Collect
- Account and contact data: email address, user ID.
- Profile data: nickname, avatar, major, social tags.
- User content: posts, comments, uploaded images, direct messages, course-related content.
- Device-related identifiers: push notification token.
- Location data: location you explicitly request for map features or attach to a post.
- Activity data: likes, follows, favorites, read status, moderation actions.
How Data Is Used
- To create and manage your account.
- To display your profile and user-generated content.
- To deliver messaging, comments, notifications, and moderation workflows.
- To support map and campus-location features when you actively request them.
- To secure sign-in features such as local biometric authentication.
Permissions
- Photo library: used when you choose images for avatars, posts, messages, food reviews, and schedule import.
- Camera: used when you take a photo in supported messaging flows.
- Location: requested only when you actively use location-based features.
- Face ID: used only for local sign-in convenience on your device.
- Notifications: requested only when you explicitly enable push notifications inside the app.
Data Sharing
HKCampus uses Supabase infrastructure to store and process app data. HKCampus does not use your data for third-party advertising or cross-app tracking.
Retention and Controls
- You can delete your own posts or comments where the feature is available.
- You can disable push notifications from the Profile screen.
- You can delete your account from Profile > Delete Account.
- In supported conversations, message recall removes a message from the chat view, but cannot guarantee removal from screenshots, prior notifications, or copies stored by others.
